Citrine has one main purpose, and that is to prepare the body to accept a greater amount of yellow ray. In the book Gifts of the Gemstone Guardians (out of print) the Guardian of Citrine says, “Citrine does not actually carry the yellow ray. Instead, I act as a magnet which draws the ray into the physical body.” (p.177)

Citrine draws in the yellow ray so effectively, that it can substitute for Yellow Sapphire as a yellow-color-ray-bearing gemstone in many cases. Citrine also aligns the chakras with the life force, so that they can be better conductors for color rays into the body.
